Larry Rex Amos of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at his home.
Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO 64015. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, at the chapel.

Larry was born July 4, 1939, in Cosby, Missouri, the son of Henry “Bud” and Merle (Mandler) Amos. He married Ora Lee Ehrenberg Amos on February 19, 1989. Together they enjoyed traveling all over the world having wonderful adventures abroad. He worked for Armco Steel (GST) as a mill right, retiring in 1997, after 31 and 1/2 years. Following retirement, Larry and Ora owned and operated Parkview Lodge in Branson, MO. Larry was a Pigeon Liberator, racing pigeons and enjoying peoples faces as he released them for a race. He also loved riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his Step-son, Bill Collins, Step-daughter, Dana Ruth, Mary Turner, and brother, Daun Amos.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Lee, of the home. Step sons, Andy Collins and wife, Penny, of Independence, MO. David Collins and wife, Therese, of Grandview, MO, Tom Collins and wife, Dana, of Independence, MO. Step-daughters, Geraldine Stapleton of Independence, MO, Sherry Dawes of Branson, MO, Debbie Jones of Sperry, OK; Brother, J.C. Amos, of Branson, MO; and Sister, Jeannie Bullard, of St. Joseph, MO; Fourteen Grandchildren and One Great-granddaughter.
