When Jay Davis gathered with his family to watch television in their great room Sunday afternoon, he was surprised to see that just outside the rooms window, a fluttery surprise awaited him.


When Jay Davis gathered with his family to watch television in their great room Sunday afternoon, he was surprised to see that just outside the room’s window, a fluttery surprise awaited him.

“I was on the computer and when I looked, I didn’t know what it was at first,” Davis said. “I noticed the white feathers and saw it was much bigger than other birds usually hanging around the house. My daughter Katie did a search on the computer.”

This beautiful, white, trained pigeon came to visit the Valley Grande home of Jay Davis and his family Sunday and ended up staying the night. Davis said they provided water and rice for the bird thought to be registered to an owner in Louisiana. Come to find out, the bird was actually owned by a man in Bibb County. After staying the night Sunday, the bird flew away Monday morning. -- Jay Davis
