Hannes Van Droogenbroeck, the up-coming boy in the Denderstreek, was forced to put his big dream on hold for a while due to the takeover of the family business.

As a result, most of the pigeons were auctioned last year. In 2024, he was also unable to play due to lack of time, but what is certain is that the breeding stable is still of an astonishingly high level and is strengthened daily with targeted purchases!

The start

Hannes, a professional painter in the family business that has been active for 4 generations, was introduced to pigeon racing. He came into contact with pigeon racing at a very young age through his grandfather.

When his neighbour (Nestor De Saedeleer, father of Anja) gave him a round of youngsters in 2004, he was off to a good start. From 4 of these pigeons came several 1st prize winners at Noyon.

The urge to perform better and better and to play further prompted Hannes to get reinforcements from Moens W & B, Eric Limbourg, Astere Vergotte and Marc Vanonckelen.

Here the foundation was laid to say goodbye to the speed game and to focus on the middle distance up to Barcelona.

On this queen flight he also played an 8th place in Viane in 2021.
