Twan Bongers (Odiliapeel-Nl) brings a lot of beautiful pigeons, from the very best of his famous breeding loft, including the line of his 1st International Perpignan (Kimlynn), in an auction via Pitts. Also several inbred offspring of this exceptionally inheriting breeding hen !! Barcelona and Perpignan, in harsh conditions, is their trademark.
Twan Bongers is a born long distance racer. Around 2000 his search for the very best long distance pigeons in the Netherlands began. A lot of reading, research and observation of results brought him to the basis, namely the very strong Aarden and van Wanroy pigeons. Especially the very heavy St. Vincent of 2000 was a guiding principle for him. That is how he ended up at the absolute top such as Cor de Heide (Made, NL), Gebr. Saya (Maastricht, NL) via Blokker (Den Helder, NL), Anton van Haaren (Heesch, NL) via Wim Heurkens (Geffen, NL) and from 2005 about 50 direct from Jelle Jellema, (Steggerda, NL). For example, “Superklamper Nl 00-2479706” was purchased, directly from Cor de Heijde (Aerden strain), the phenomenal stock father of the Twan Bongers colony. Linked to “Kimlynn”, 1st int. Perpignan, a series of exceptional long distance toppers were delivered; of which exceptionally direct descendants in this auction !!!
After a lot of breeding from this base he started racing in 2003 with yearlings. Already in 2005 he won the 1st International Perpignan with his NL02-0260950 Kimlynn. For her international victory she already obtained a 6th National Dax. Despite various offers, Kimlynn stayed in the lofts in Odiliapeel. It turned out to be a good choice. In the years that followed, various offspring scored top-100 positions at National and International level.
Without exaggerating, we can say that Twan Bongers with his very strong stock of long distance pigeons belongs to the absolute top in Western Europe.
With a very strong stock of Aarden and van Wanroy pigeons, Twan Bongers has proven to belong to the absolute top of the European fund world for 15 years, both independently and in a partnership for the last 5 years. In 2013 and 2014 Twan and his companions flew the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 4th, 5th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 16th, 19th NATIONAL and 1, 3, 10, 10 NPO. Internationally, the 5th, 6th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 45th were flown.

In 2011, Twan Bongers got hard advice from his doctor: “pigeon lung”. Because racing with the pigeons was no longer possible for Twan in the future, he started looking for partners who would race with his pigeons. They were found in Frans Belleter (Nispen, NL), Sjef Geurts (Klimmen, NL) Uwe Späth (Bexbach, DE), Tiny van Creij (Veghel, NL) and Tom Scott (Jersey, NL). The breeders stayed with Twan and with the necessary help the youngsters were bred here for the above enthusiasts. The condition was that the aforementioned fanciers would only race with pigeons from Twan. From 2012 these lofts were populated with youngsters, bred in Odiliapeel and in 2013 they participated in the long distance flights for the first time with yearlings. This was an immediate success and the following year the 2 yearlings did more than excellent. Worth mentioning here is certainly the result of Barcelona 2014 in which he played the fastest run of 3 with the 15th, 17th and 45th internationally.
